Lotus Position

Lotus Position is the latest joint project between husband and wife team Michael Wheatley and Rebekah Jensen. The music is soaked in drippings of house, electro, funk and disco. Lotus Position is live, spontaneous and unstoppable when it comes to the groove.
Rebekah Jensen is the bands own diva extraordinaire. With a lifetime of performing with the countries best Rebekah will lure the listener in with a blend of seductive soul and powerhouse gospel style vocals. She also drums aswell!
Michael Wheatley plays strap-on keytar and carries with him a headful of lyrics and songs. Michael has made his own name around Sydney with his solo albums, playing to great success at many venues including sell out shows at The Basement. Michael currently plays in soul-funk outfit Dirty Carpet Disco Band.
Jon Wheatley is the band's drummer, don't let his good looks blind you, he lays down a solid beat that you can always rely on. Jon has the uncanny ability to keep detail in his playing and sound whether in a bar setting or for a jumping dancefloor.
DJ Beatrix brings phat wax and an impeccable mix to the jam. Beatrix plays regularly at The Colombian Hotel, Bitch, Stonewall and had her own forecourt set at Mardi Gras 2007. Keeping a smooth flowing journey is Beatrix's domain and she does it well.
All four together create a sound that has the drive of the DJ and the life of a live band. The mix between the live elements and the recorded is practically seamless with the group often breaking down to drums, synth bass and vocals.
Lotus Position have been playing consistently since they began in 2003 most often at their favourite haunt Opera Bar including NYE 2005. They've played high end corporate shows for clients such as David Grant Special Events to intimate shows at venues like Slide Oxford St, Peppermint Lounge Kings Cross and the Palace in Coogee. Most recently they revved up the crowds at the BGF Glamstand Mardi Gras 2007 on Flinders street in the pre-parade show.
Lotus Position believes in the music they play and performance is a key element, the energy on stage flows outward constantly. Lotus Position can keep a room at whatever the desired temperature is.
